Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a professional form of treatment that helps people better understand their difficulties, emotions, relationships and life situations, while finding meaningful ways forward. Its aim is to support psychological stability, personal development and quality of life, helping people manage everyday challenges with greater confidence.

Our psychologists draw on different therapeutic approaches, while sharing a strong respect for the principles of Carl Rogers' person-centred approach. We value a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, respect for each person's individual experience, authenticity, and confidence in the client's ability to understand themselves, grow and actively influence the direction of their life. Our work may also include humour, optimism and practical steps that can be applied in everyday situations.

Psychotherapy is tailored to the health condition, life circumstances and individual needs of each child, adolescent or adult. It is usually recommended by a treating physician or following a clinical psychological assessment. This helps us determine whether psychotherapy is the most appropriate form of care and what the treatment should focus on.

We most often work with people experiencing significant psychological difficulties or psychiatric conditions. An important area of our work is also psychotherapy for patients with neurological or physical health conditions, particularly where psychological factors affect treatment, everyday functioning or overall quality of life. Where appropriate, we work in cooperation with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Psychotherapy is usually a longer-term process that requires time, regular attendance and active collaboration. It is most commonly provided through individual sessions for children, adolescents and adults. The frequency and duration of therapy are agreed according to the nature of the difficulties, the goals of treatment and the individual situation of the patient.

All psychologists providing psychotherapy at our clinic have the appropriate professional qualifications or are at a suitable stage of recognised psychotherapy training. Their work is regularly supervised by an experienced psychotherapist who is also a clinical psychologist with specialist certification in psychotherapy. This helps us maintain a high standard of professional, safe and reflective care.
